"I'm Confessin' (That I Love You)" was originally recorded on eight track tape as a background for George and Laurie’s television appearance with Washington DC broadcaster Ed Walker in the late 1990s. It was recently digitally embellished with a number of additional tracks and with the use of state-of-the-art digital signal processing techniques. Although greatly enhanced, their song still retains the simplicity and strength that this beautiful song deserves.
They chose to record it as an instrumental with a touch of guitar tremelo in the verses. and with complimenting left and right instrumental tracks in one of them. Laurie sings ten separately recorded background vocal tracks throughout the song that are blended uniformly across the stereo field. The addition of two separately recorded acoustic guitar rhythm tracks and three panned bass tracks (guitar and electric bass and synthesizer) completes their new interpretation of this well known standard.
